Yeah man, leaving the dutch winter! Friday the 9th of january 2004 early morning 02.45 getting up, stowing da boardbags in da WSR-van, 03.30 driving to the Schiphol-airport in Amsterdam.
05.00 checking in time for da WSR crew flight BA 8110 to London-Gatwick 07.00 airborn! 07.00 English time (one hour earlier) welcome in London-Gatwick!
09.00 checking in for da BA 2155 flight to Barbados!!!on a brandnew boeing 777, with private tv and music channel system!!!
English breakfast and a caribbean-style-chicken-curry lunch...... then some new movies watching on your personal tv screen, sleeping some hours and ....
"ladies & gentleman, here's your captain speaking, we will be landing on Barbados shortly, where the temperature is a pleasant 29 degrees with a cooling easterly breeze.... we hope you enjoyed the flight with British Airways and wish you a very nice stay..." WELCOME TO BARBADOS!!!!
15.50 Touch down on the landing strip on Barbados!!! Few minutes later a warm wind is welcoming us descending the stairs fom the plane, yeah man!
Barbados; the warmest welcome in the caribbean!!!
After going trough customs we collect the luggage and then the surfbags. Outside the terminal Mood, the owner of "Ocean Spray Apartments", is allready awaiting us. We load the luggage on the huge Ford-F150-V8-black-triniton-super-crew pick up and smoothly we are driving to the apartment. On the horizon the first kites are greeting us! Yeah man, action!
At "Ocean Spray Apartments" everybody is awaiting us allready! Welcome back again, welcome home! "Ocean Spray" a home away from home! We unload the pick up truck and grab for our shorts....first we have to take a dive into the warm ocean!!! The waves are welcoming us, the water a pleasant 28 degrees celsius!!! YES!!! The sun is setting now, turning the sky in all kind of warm colours; de colours of da caribbean! Back home its 23.00 now and freezing cold and we are swimming in the sea :-)!!! Yeah man!
Saturday the 10th of january 2004; goodmorning Barbados! After a long sleep the wind is waking us up! Action time! Unpacking the boardbags and rigging da sails. Yeah man ready for da action!!! Wind is slightly onshore and big waves are rolling in the bay @ Ocean Spray!!! First day out on da water! See also da first windsurfing action pics in the photo album! At sundown da famous "Ocean Spray" beer, rum & chicken party starts..... oh no!!! Completely waisted from windsurfing all day and then a party....... S.O.S. from da caribbean!!! Da world famous Barbados rum is tasting like allways........
Sunday the 11th of january 2004; ......................................... no action today......... please........ to much rum is dangerousssssssss................................
Chilling out big time today, on the balcony, soaking up da vieuw and the refreshing sea air!!! Fortunately the wind has dropped a little today, also taking off today, like we have to do....... Big waves are rolling in today. Good conditions for surfing, kitesurfing or surfkayaking today.... but not for us..... we have to chill out today.... to recover after a jumpy party.... At the end of the day start feeling hungry again, slowly back to life... Time to head for the fishmarket in nearby Oistins. Time for some bajan-styled-grilled-by-uncle-George blue marlin @ "de Fish Net"! Mmmmmm..... and afterwards some delicious "cookies & cream" ice cream @ "Chefette's". Yeah man, that was the action for today!
Monday the 12th of january 2004; da surf's up!!! clean waves rolling in the bay @ "Ocean Spray"...... time to surf our longboards.....
Tuesday the 13th of january 2004; low pressure hits Barbados! Tropical storm!
Wednesday the 14th of january 2004; da sky is clear again! da surf's up!!!! spotcheck and surfari on Barbados... check out da surfing pics!!! Is surfing a sport for babes only??!! Surfsession till sunset!
Thursday the 15th of january 2004; da surf's still up.... clean waves @ Ocean Spray! At nighttime action in "the Ship Inn", local band playing; 4dePeople!!! Party time!!!
Friday the 16th of january 2004 - sunday the 18th of january 2004; Weekend!!! Still no wind.... Surfing every day @ Ocean Spray!!! At night party hard again and sundaynight da famous Bajan Style BBQ...mmmmm...... What a hard live here.....:-)
Monday the 19th of january 2004; big BIG swell hits the Westcoast of Barbados, check out da pics!!! Westcoast is rocking big time!!! Back @ Ocean Spray finally some wind!!!! ACCTION!!!
Making hungry... At nighttime heading for da fishmarket in Oistins; "Blue Marlin time" again @ the world famous "de Fishnet" and "cookies & cream" @ Chefette!!!
Tuesday the 20th of january 2004; All day surfing @ Ocean Spray. At night hitting the salad barn from Chefette @ Accra Beach, hungry like hell!!!!!
Wednesday the 21st of january 2004; "Errol Barrow Day" @ Barbados. Holiday, the whole island is off work today! Beaches are packed with locals having big parties!!! Music all over the island.... Yeah man!

Thursday the 29th of january 2004;; Bathsheba on the east coast is calling. Big barrels @ the world famous "Soupbowl" surfing spot!!! See the pics! Back home just in time for da "Ocean spray" rum punch party..........
Friday the 30th of january 2004; Da wind is finally back on Barbados.... "Accttionn"..... @ Silver Sands! After a hard day on da water crashed out in the bed....
Saturday the 31th of january 2004; BIG wave alert for the westcoast of Barbados!!! Epic surfing @ Maycock's in the morning!!! In the afternoon surfing tubes @ a secret spot.......????!!!!
Sunday the 1st of february 2004; "THE BARBADOS WATERMAN 2004 FESTIVAL" @ Silver Rock beach. Wind-, kitesurf action @ Brian Talma's homespot!!!
